The Lagos Water Regatta is an aquatic event held during the Black Heritage Festival. A water display of culture and tradition, help on the creeks and lagoons in Lagos, this event is a flotilla of brightly decorated boats which depicts aspects of the city’s socio-culture traditions such as are found in folklore, traditional costume and also showcases the main occupations of Lagos’ coastal communities – fishing. In addition to the activities on the water, there’s a lot to see and do on dry land. At the Regatta village, visitors are treated to exhibition stands, a fun park for children, live music, viewing centres as well as food stands.
